From Small Roots to Big Community Impact
In the summer of 2006, at just nine years old, my father gave me an old white-brand lawnmower before he deployed to Afghanistan. I began mowing lawns in my tiny hometown of Wilsey, KS. When I finished mowing, I started washing dishes and taking out the trash for my elderly neighbors. Not for money, but to stay busy. Through these acts of community service, I found my purpose and persevered through hard times, waiting for my dad to come home.
Blooming Interest in Landscaping
My dad returned home safely, six years later, and together we transformed the community with our landscaping services. We built retaining walls, installed gravel driveways, removed snow, and constructed fences. In high school, I joined a local tree service as a groundman. By 2016, I was in Florida doing hurricane disaster relief after Hurricane Matthew. I worked in tree care from 2012 to 2024, and in 2019, I launched my own tree service as part of my landscaping business.
